BCLA's own Maya Oritz, host of BCLA's weekly online Rainbow Haven, is a doctoral student at the University of Illinois Chicago and is conducting a research study into the experiences of queer Latinas and their identities. Maya will be interviewing US-born Puerto Rican or Dominican Latinas living in NY or NJ. Please see the flyer for details about eligibility for participating in the research interviews. NJ State Bills to Protect Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Health Care
Two NJ state bills have been sponsored which intend to "codify critical protections to those seeking and providing reproductive and gender-affirming health care. Further, this act is intended to ensure that anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ persons cannot harm patients or providers."

LGBTQIA+ Thrive Support Group for Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence
Hosted by Alternatives to Domestic Violence in the Bergen County Dept. of Human Services, this free virtual group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 4-5:30pm. Camp Highlight is hiring Counselors
Camp Highlight is a community where children of LGBTQ families can connect, grow, and play! They provide an range of camp experiences that are fun and encourage campers to be more mature, more community focused, and kinder. Camp Highlight sleepaway camp takes place in Chester County, Pennsylvania, August 10 to August 17. The cost is $1500 per camper. Financial aid is available. Writer's Room is a free and open invitation monthly, online writing workshop hosted by the Future Perfect Project. The workshop focuses on developing writing skills and tools for creatives of all backgrounds and experiences. This is a 75-min workshop that meets monthly on Zoom, every second Tuesday of the month at 8pm.
